The main reason behind the Holocaust happened was because of Nazi's anger towards the Jews. The Jews were the ones that supposedly lost World War I for Germany. Hitlers ideal task to exterminate the Jews was something he had on mind when the holocaust began. Hitler probably wanted to live in a Utopian society where Germany would be the superior country with no Jews in sight.
Germany was in a great depression and their economy was at an all time low. They were in debt, other countries were shutting them out, jobs were being lost. Germany was slowly falling and they needed a leader to lead them back into place. Adolf Hitler was perfect but did it on a whole other level. Hitler started the these mass-murders out of anger and hate. His hate for the Jews and his desire for making Germany more superior than the others is what caused the Holocaust.
